Description
Scott Aerator Algae Shield is a natural, mineral-based treatment that reduces algae in ponds and lakes by removing the excess phosphates and nutrients that feed algae blooms. It binds dissolved nutrients into insoluble particles that settle to the bottom, where they are no longer available to algae.
Features
- A single treatment can remove up to 95% of available phosphates, per Scott Aerator
- Each 5-gallon bucket holds 22 lb and treats up to 500,000 gallons
- Silicate-enhanced formula, effective from pH 5.5 to 10
- Can form a nutrient barrier lasting up to 15 years, depending on site and application
- Listed reductions: orthophosphate 70-80%, ammonia 50-70%, oxygen demand 80-90%
- Applied as a 4:1 water-to-product slurry sprayed evenly over the water surface; see label for full directions
